The lights around the stage dimmed as smoke filled the stage. Video began playing as Antonio Bergamini, Elena Fossi, and two guest performers took center stage in their usual fashion of military uniforms and black ski masks with red crosses on the forehead. They stood still, looking forward with right fists over their hearts while "Neither Honour Nor Glory" by Stalingrad played majestically through the hangar. It was difficult to read the text on the video as I was snapping pictures and the words were often obscured by smoke. I managed to find a video of it on youtube, but it was hard to make out as the quality wasn't very good and mostly focused on the band.

Intro text from what I could discern:
The British Secret Service (MI5) has published an alarming report in the magazine Sunday Express revealing that some 200 million Christians in 60 Countries around the world are at risk of suffering persecution/danger of death. The report reveals that in the Sudan, for example, thousands of Christians have been massacred and the fundamentalist government has done ? nothing to ? in Iraq. The ? grave... as Christians do not have their own militia to defend them, and Sunni and Shiite factions accuse them of collaborating with the American 'crusaders' and among us hundreds of victims of kidnapping this year there are a growing number of Christians. North Korea has seen some 50,000 Christian concentration camps, in China some 40,000 suffered the same fate. Strangely, of this and MUCH MORE a ? surrounded by ? the important Christian churches look embarrassingly "neutral" in front of such a unequally huge extermination. Definitely, Satanism cannot be taken as an "alternative culture any longer". As that is just THE winning "Culture", now. So some people are ready whether they're Christian or not. They couldn't support the "? experiment."

Elena, the singer, took off her ski mask after the intro. The other members would do so over the course of the set, with Antonio being the last. Most of the songs they performed were from the later albums, but they did play an updated version of "Eclipse" followed by "K-Pax" - two of my favorite songs. Near the end of the set, they covered Ultravox's "Hymn". They managed to turn this new wave classic in a wonderful, soulful dirge.

I did lament that Antonio did not sing, most notably "Erinnerung". I was at their WGT 2006 show at the Volkspalast where they played this song during one of their many encores. Although the WGT 2010 show was great, I have to say the previous performance I saw was even more amazing. I went with two people I met after I got off the tram. We were all lost and the Kuppelhalle was packed to the gills when we arrived late. We couldn't see anything and there was no way to push our way toward the stage. Some bartenders were standing on the back counter of a bar no one was buying drinks from. They were kind enough to let us stand on the front bar counter to watch the show over everyone's heads. It's rare to see workers break the rules and show such camaraderie. Kirlian Camera played for almost 2 hours that night and their encores were just as long as the main show. We all refused to leave and they kept playing. That show will always hold a special place in my heart.

As for WGT 2010, everyone on stage gave it their all from start to finish. Their excitement and confidence could be felt through the thousands present. The two men behind their instruments moved along to the music as they played masterfully. When the woman on stage left wasn't playing her keyboard, she was rocking a bass guitar. The singer commanded attention throughout the entire set. She seduced listeners with a gentle voice before crushing them with a strong one in the next breath. Kirlian Camera was the perfect headliner to end a night of shows.
